Saudi and Russian Foreign Ministers Discuss Yemen Escalation and Threats to International Navigation
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held talks on Sunday with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, addressing regional developments, primarily the escalation in Yemen and threats to international navigation.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the meeting was held in the Bahraini capital, Manama, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Russian Federation.
It added that the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed regional developments, including the escalation in Yemen, the ongoing threats to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb, and efforts to maintain regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by the Saudi Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral International Affairs and Supervisor General of the Ministry's Agency for Economic and Development Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, and the Kingdom's Ambassador to Bahrain, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairi.
