Al-Mahra University Hosts Omar bin Hafith for a Seminar on Youth Values and Identity

On Wednesday, Al-Mahra University hosted an awareness seminar by the scholar Habib Omar bin Mohammed bin Salem bin Hafith, which addressed Muslim youth's adherence to morals and values, and how to deal with the achievements of different civilizations amid rapid intellectual and cultural transformations.

The seminar, titled "Muslim Youth's Adherence to Morals and Values and Their Stance on Western Civilization," was held in coordination with the Basamat Shabab Al-Ghaydah Forum in Sheikh Mohammed Al-Zubaidi Hall at the university, attended by academics, students, and interested individuals.

Omar bin Hafith emphasized the importance of youth embracing Islamic morals and values as the foundation for personal development and societal righteousness. He clarified that adhering to identity and values does not conflict with benefiting from the achievements of different civilizations but requires awareness and the ability to distinguish between what is beneficial and what contradicts one's principles and values.

He called for fortifying youth with knowledge, awareness, and consciousness, enhancing their ability to handle intellectual and cultural changes with a balanced spirit, and investing their energies in serving their communities, contributing to their construction and progress, and avoiding intellectual and behavioral deviations.

The seminar discussed the importance of strengthening Islamic identity among youth and their role in building society, alongside the intellectual and cultural challenges they face and ways to address them with knowledge, wisdom, and awareness.

The meeting saw active participation from the audience through several interventions and inquiries. Omar bin Hafith responded to participants' questions, stressing the importance of meaningful dialogue and communication between scholars, youth, and the academic community.

Omar bin Hafith and his accompanying delegation were received by the university's Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs, Dr. Faiz Jumaan bin Murakab, and for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Suhail Jumaan Musda', who welcomed the visit and emphasized the importance of holding seminars and meetings that enhance youth awareness and open avenues for discussing intellectual and cultural issues related to their reality and aspirations.

Bin Hafith expressed his gratitude to Al-Mahra University and its academic leadership for organizing the seminar and for the warm reception, praising its role in serving the community and its concern for youth issues.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mujibi; the Director of the Mehri Language Center, Saeed Najadan Al-Qamiri; the Vice Dean of the College of Arts for Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Murtada Saeed Masnoum; and the Vice Dean of the College of Education for Student Affairs, Dr. Hilal Al-Sufyani, along with a number of academics, students, and interested individuals.
