Hadhramaut: Protests in Tarim Demand Referral of Young Man's Murder Case to the Public Prosecution
The family of the young man Ismail Ma'dal organized a protest on Sunday in front of the Tarim district court building in Hadhramaut governorate, demanding justice in the case of his killing during a security operation in the city's airport area about a month ago, and the referral of the case file to the Public Prosecution to complete the legal procedures.
Protesters held banners demanding disclosure of the circumstances of the young man's death, accountability for those responsible for the incident, and the expedition of legal procedures, stressing the need to achieve justice and fairness for the victim's family.
Ma'dal was killed during a security operation carried out at his family's home, following a report about disputes and concerns related to his behavior, according to a local source for Al-Mahriah channel. The source explained that the operation involved a confrontation during which the director of criminal investigation in Tarim was injured with a bladed weapon, before the security force opened fire on the young man, leading to his death.
The young man's body has remained in the hospital morgue since he was killed about a month ago, and has not yet been buried, while his family continues to demand the referral of the case to the Public Prosecution and the disclosure of the incident's circumstances, amidst the absence of a detailed official statement on the case and the legal measures taken.
