Warplanes Intensify Raids on Houthi Sites and Reinforcements in Taiz
On Sunday, warplanes of the Yemeni Armed Forces intensified their airstrikes on sites, gatherings, and military reinforcements of the Houthi group on several fronts in Taiz governorate, coinciding with ground confrontations and Houthi attempts to advance towards the city's western neighborhoods.
Military sources told "Al-Mahriah Net" that the aircraft carried out a series of airstrikes between 1 PM and 6 PM, targeting military sites, fortifications, and gatherings of Houthi militants in the eastern and western countrysides, in addition to areas south of the city and the roads leading to them.
According to the sources, the raids were concentrated on the eastern axis of Taiz city, targeting sites on the hills of Al-Muqrimi, Al-Ja'shah, and Al-Sallal, as well as newly established sites in the Sofitel area, the Al-Nafrin hills overlooking the city's eastern entrance, and the vicinity of Al-Qasr roundabout.
The sources explained that the targeted sites in these areas are used, according to military intelligence, for sniping and shelling residential neighborhoods, while an independent toll on the human and material losses from the raids was not available.
On the southern axis, airstrikes hit Houthi fortifications at Al-Mukh'af Fort and the Bal'an area on the Al-Aqroudh front. They also targeted combat reinforcements that sources said were en route to the Sabir and Jabal Habashi fronts.
The raids extended to the Birh Al-Rahab area in the Al-Za'aza' sub-district of Al-Shamayatayn directorate, where they targeted gatherings of the group's elements, according to military sources.
On the western front, aircraft launched raids on Houthi sites in the areas of Al-Siyahi, Hathran, Al-Rabie'i, Asifrah, Milat, and Akamat A'la, coinciding with the Yemeni Armed Forces repelling an attack that sources said the group launched in an attempt to advance towards the city's western neighborhoods.
These developments come amid an escalation of military operations around Taiz, which is witnessing intermittent confrontations on several fronts, amidst ongoing security and humanitarian challenges facing the population, especially in areas near the front lines and roads leading to the city.
