Rain Floods Sweep Abyan Amid Tropical Depression
The central regions of Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen, witnessed the flow of rain floods through wadis and ravines, following rainfall in several areas, coinciding with the country being affected by a tropical depression.
Circulated footage showed water flowing between mountains and agricultural lands, with floods pouring into the channels of wadis and ravines, in a scene reflecting the rainfall activity experienced by parts of the governorate.
These developments come as the rainy cumulonimbus thunderclouds accompanying the tropical depression have moved over the past twenty-four hours, after entering the Gulf of Aden and the landmass in the Horn of Africa, coinciding with the spread of water vapor towards Yemen.
The floods help supply agricultural lands with water, amid calls for caution when crossing wadis and ravines to avoid the dangers of flowing water and rising levels.
