Al-Khanbashi Inspects Al-Rayyan Airport After Rocket and Drone Attack
Today, Presidential Leadership Council member and Governor of Hadhramaut, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, inspected the site of the attack that targeted Al-Rayyan International Airport in Mukalla, calling for a firm stance and for those responsible for targeting civilian facilities to be held accountable.
Al-Khanbashi condemned the attack, stating that it targets a vital civilian facility and threatens the safety of travelers, staff, and civil aviation. He stressed that targeting civilian objects is a grave violation of international laws and norms.
He added that the local authority will continue to enhance security measures to protect civilian facilities, preserve the security and stability of Hadhramaut, and ensure the safety and interests of its citizens.
The local authority in Hadhramaut had previously announced that the attack on Al-Rayyan Airport, using several drones and missiles, represents a dangerous escalation and a threat to civilians and aviation. It confirmed that no casualties were recorded and that the relevant authorities are assessing the impact of the attack and taking necessary measures to enhance airport security.
