Al-Mahrah: Warnings for fishermen against entering the sea as a low-pressure system approaches
The General Authority for Fisheries in Al-Mahrah Governorate has called on fishermen and sea-goers not to set sail starting from tomorrow, Thursday, until the effects of the expected low-pressure system affecting the governorate have ended, warning of rough seas and high waves.
In a circular issued today, Wednesday, the Authority called on the directors of fish landing centers and heads of fishing associations in the coastal districts to alert fishermen to exercise the utmost caution, in light of weather bulletins and forecasts of rough seas, and based on the directives of the local authority in the governorate.
It also called on fishermen to move their boats and fishing equipment from low-lying areas and take the necessary precautionary measures during the period the governorate is affected by the weather condition.
