Iran Affirms Its Response to Attacks Will Extend Beyond US Bases in the Gulf

An adviser to the commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Hamid Reza Moghadam, said that Iran will expand the scope of its response beyond US military bases if Gulf countries allow Washington to launch attacks on his country from their territories.
During a rally in Bandar Abbas, Moghadam added that Iran will use a "new doctrine and new technology" in response to any US or Israeli action, warning that countries including the UAE and Bahrain will face a broader response if attacks on Iran are launched from their territories.
This comes after statements made by US President Donald Trump to the Financial Times, in which he said that the United States has no imminent plan to attack Iran.
In the interview published by the newspaper on Tuesday, Trump indicated his satisfaction with the current state of the crisis with Iran, saying: "It seems we are getting everything we want."
Trump announced that the US military carried out an attack on Iran in the early hours of Tuesday morning, targeting a recently completed air defense facility.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump said the operation was a "limited attack." The attack came hours before the US midterm elections.
