Presidential Council Head: Houthis Compensate for Their Losses in Taiz with Psychological Warfare

Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi said that the Houthi group, following what he described as "successive failures and heavy losses" on the battlefield, is trying to compensate for its on-the-ground deficit by launching extensive psychological warfare.
This came during extensive consultations he held regarding developments on the ground in Taiz governorate. He was briefed by Presidential Leadership Council members Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Al-Muharrami and Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, the Minister of Defense, the Chief of the General Staff, the Commander of the Fourth Military Region, and military and security leaders in the governorate on the field situation across the governorate's various fronts and the measures taken to deal with Houthi attacks in recent hours.
Al-Alimi explained that the group works to mislead citizens, spread rumors and alarmism, exploiting its control over communication networks to stir fear and confusion among the population.
He stressed that the state is aware of the nature of this psychological warfare and the tools used in it, noting that the military and security institutions will deal with it "with all responsibility and competence".
Al-Alimi said that military operations will proceed as planned "with steadfastness and responsibility," leading to the restoration of state institutions and the capital, Sana'a, ending the coup, and putting a final end to the war and suffering that he said was created by the Houthi group with the support of the Iranian regime.
Speaking about Taiz governorate, Al-Alimi praised the resilience of its people and their rally around state institutions and its armed forces, and the sacrifices they make in defense of the republican system.
He said that Taiz "has been and will remain one of the great national strongholds," adding that attempts to subjugate it or break its will "will fail as they have failed in the past".
Al-Alimi's statements coincided with the escalation of clashes on several fronts in Taiz governorate, as government forces engaged in fierce battles against the Houthi group in the western countryside and southeastern parts of the governorate. This occurred alongside airstrikes targeting the group's positions, while government forces announced the killing and injury of 80 Houthi elements on the Al-Aqroudh front.
