Coast Guard: Houthi targeting of the authority in Aden will not impede maritime security tasks
The Yemeni Coast Guard Command stated that the ballistic missile attack launched by the Houthis on the authority's vital facilities in the temporary capital, Aden, will not undermine the forces' steadfastness or impede their national duties of protecting Yemen's maritime security and enforcing the law.
The head of the authority explained that targeting civilian and security facilities will not deter the Coast Guard from performing its duties, nor will it affect its determination to continue its tasks of protecting Yemen's coasts and territorial waters, combating smuggling, and cutting off illicit supply lines that benefit the Houthi group.
The authority's leadership stressed that the Coast Guard, as a law enforcement security agency, will continue to perform its national duties and responsibilities with full steadfastness. It reiterated that such attacks will not change its position or national commitments, and that Coast Guard personnel will continue to perform their duties with full responsibility and determination, regardless of the challenges.
The Ministry of Interior had stated that on Saturday, the Houthis targeted the Coast Guard headquarters at the Ministry's office in the temporary capital, Aden, with two ballistic missiles, and the Coast Guard building in the Tawahi district with a third ballistic missile.
