Algeria Affirms Support for Efforts to Reach a Peaceful Solution in Yemen
Algeria affirmed on Sunday its readiness to continue supporting efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people and reaching a sustainable peaceful solution that preserves Yemen's security, sovereignty, and stability.
This came during a meeting between Algerian Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Ahmed Attaf and Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Algerian Foreign Ministry stated that the two sides exchanged views on the developments in Yemen and their humanitarian, economic, and security repercussions, particularly concerning maritime navigation in the Red Sea.
During the meeting, Attaf affirmed his country's solidarity with the Yemeni people, emphasizing the deep historical ties of brotherhood and solidarity that unite Algeria and Yemen.
For her part, the Yemeni minister praised the place Algeria holds in Yemen's national memory and its supportive stances for her country at various stages, expressing her hope to enhance bilateral coordination and cooperation between the two countries.
