The Taiz Human Rights Center announced it has documented 1,444 human rights violations committed by the Houthi group against civilians and civilian objects in Taiz governorate and several of its districts last October.

The report clarified that the violations resulted in the killing of 54 civilians, including 19 children and 13 women, and the injury of 147 others, including 49 children and 42 women. Additionally, 166 civilians were abducted, according to the final count verified by the center's field research team.

The report indicated that 637 homes were damaged due to raids, looting, and destruction, including nine completely destroyed and 255 partially destroyed homes. Furthermore, 119 educational facilities, 190 mosques, and 131 health facilities were damaged, with some facilities being destroyed and others seized by the group.

According to the report, the violations were distributed across 14 districts, led by Al-Shamayatayn, Al-Mawasit, Jabal Habashi, Al-Silw, and Sabir Al-Mawadim. This occurred amidst military escalation and attacks in the southern, western, and southeastern rural areas of the governorate, coinciding with the ongoing siege imposed on the city of Taiz.

The Taiz Human Rights Center called on the United Nations, the international community, and humanitarian organizations to intensify pressure to stop the violations, lift the siege, open roads and crossings, ensure the arrival of humanitarian and medical aid, and support efforts for documentation, accountability, and justice for the victims.
