Army Thwarts Large-Scale Houthi Attack in Taiz After Hours of Fierce Clashes
The National Army announced on Thursday that it thwarted a large-scale Houthi attack on the Al-Aqroudh front, south of Taiz province, after hours of fierce clashes.
The 35th Armored Brigade said in a statement, "The armed forces, backed by the popular resistance on the Al-Aqroudh front, managed to break a large-scale attack launched by the terrorist Houthi militia, which lasted for about four hours on several fronts, including the Hummah and Al-Kuraif axis, the Ras Al-Naqil axis, and the Al-Qahfa axis."
It added that "the clashes involved fierce fighting during which the heroes repelled the militia's attack, thwarted their attempts to advance and penetrate the armed forces' positions, and inflicted significant human losses on their elements."
The statement noted that the clashes resulted in dozens of killed and wounded among the Houthis, while the attack failed to achieve its objectives.
Simultaneously, the Kuhlan and various Sabir fronts are witnessing fierce clashes, during which the armed forces, backed by the popular resistance, are making field progress, according to the statement.
The statement said that the army forces "inflicted heavy losses in lives and equipment on the Houthi militia, while continuing to pressure its positions as the militia shells citizens' homes with mortar rounds."
