Political factions in Shabwa condemn the attack on al-Alam camp and call for unified efforts to confront the Houthis

The parties and components of the Consultative Meeting in Shabwa governorate condemned the Houthi missile attack that targeted al-Alam camp in Jardan district during a training course for recruits from the governorate, which, according to their statement, resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.
In a political statement issued on Monday, October 19, 2026, the components stated that targeting recruits receiving training for local security tasks constitutes a war crime and a violation of customs and conventions, as they described it, accusing the Houthi group of being behind the attack.
The components offered their condolences to the families of the deceased and the people of Shabwa, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. They affirmed that, according to the statement, the attack will not affect the cohesion and solidarity of the governorate's people.
The parties and components called for uniting ranks and coordinating efforts to confront the Houthis and defend Shabwa and its people, affirming their commitment to continue the fight until Yemen is completely liberated from the group's control.
Earlier, the local authority in Shabwa governorate announced that more than 53 recruits were killed and 200 others were injured in a Houthi missile attack that targeted the Martyr Ahmed al-Sulaimani Training Center.
