Two Decrees Appoint New Governors for Al-Bayda and Al-Jawf
Two presidential decrees were issued on Sunday appointing new governors for the central and northern provinces of Al-Bayda and Al-Jawf.
The official Yemeni News Agency (Saba) reported that a presidential decree appointed Major General Hussein Al-Aji Ali Al-Awadhi as governor of Al-Bayda, while another decree appointed Major General Amin Ali Al-Okimi as governor of Al-Jawf and commander of the governorate's axis.
The appointments come amid a military escalation in several Yemeni governorates, including Al-Jawf, which witnessed fierce battles on Saturday during which government forces announced control of strategic positions. Al-Bayda is also considered an important governorate where the government seeks to achieve field progress.
