Army Forces Repel Widespread Houthi Attacks in Taiz, Announce Dozens Killed
A military source stated that government forces, backed by the Popular Resistance and warplanes, repelled widespread and simultaneous attacks launched by the Houthi group on several fronts in Taiz governorate, inflicting personnel and material losses.
The source explained, according to the Armed Forces' media center, that the army and Popular Resistance forces broke a series of Houthi attacks accompanied by heavy covering fire since Wednesday evening in the Jabal Habashi and Maqbanah districts west of Taiz, and on the Al-Aqroudh front in the Al-Misrakh district, southeast of the governorate.
The source confirmed that dozens of Houthis were killed, wounded, or captured on various fronts, including field commanders, in addition to the destruction and disabling of the group's military equipment.
He said that at least 30 Houthi elements were killed by government forces on the Al-Aqroudh front alone, in addition to dozens wounded, during confrontations in which various types of weapons were used.
In a related context, government forces' warplanes launched 6 airstrikes targeting Houthi positions and gatherings in areas southeast of Taiz and on the Himyar front in the Maqbanah district, west of the governorate, according to the source, who said the strikes caused casualties and material losses.
The source confirmed that government forces continue to repel Houthi attacks, noting they are dealing with them "with efficiency, competence, and high morale," and said that the bodies of killed Houthis are still scattered in the mountains, valleys, and front lines.
