The Arab League condemned the missile shelling by the Houthis on the Maashiq Palace, the seat of the Yemeni government in Aden, Aden International Airport, and residential neighborhoods in the city of Marib, which resulted in casualties and injuries, and put civilian lives in grave danger.

In a statement on Saturday, the League affirmed that "these attacks represent a very dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of the rules of international law and international humanitarian law, stressing that the continued targeting of state institutions and civilian facilities reflects a determination to proceed with escalation, threatening Yemen's security and stability, and undermining efforts for de-escalation and reaching a political settlement to the Yemeni crisis."

The Arab League reiterated its firm position in support of Yemen's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and its backing of the Yemeni government and legitimate state institutions. It called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take firm positions and measures to stop these attacks and hold those responsible accountable, to ensure the protection of civilians and the preservation of state institutions.

It welcomed the presidential statement issued by the Security Council on October 15, which condemned the escalating Houthi attacks and called for an immediate halt to the escalation and attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, stressing the importance of intensifying Arab and international efforts to reach a comprehensive political settlement to the Yemeni crisis.
