Al-Alimi: Fajr al-Yemen to continue despite sacrifices

The President of the Presidential Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, confirmed the continuation of Operation Fajr al-Yemen, which was announced last week and followed a phase of military escalation between the Houthis and government forces.
Al-Alimi said, in a message of solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the Houthi shelling of its airports: "We renew our shared resolve to move forward with Operation Fajr al-Yemen to end the terrorist threat and restore state institutions, whatever the sacrifices may cost."
Al-Alimi expressed Yemen's solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its strong condemnation of the cowardly Houthi terrorist attack that targeted King Khalid International Airport, resulting in a number of deaths and hundreds of injuries of various nationalities.
He said: "The security of the Kingdom and the security of Yemen and the interests of their two peoples are interconnected," considering any attack on the Kingdom as an attack on Yemen's security, interests, and the future of its generations.
On Saturday, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced the temporary suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport in the capital, Riyadh, after it was attacked, resulting in a number of casualties.
The authority stated that the suspension of operations will continue until the damage assessment is completed and the safety of the airport facilities is verified, noting that the resumption of operations depends on the results of the assessment.
According to Saudi authorities, the attack on the airport resulted in the death of 12 people and the injury of 309 others. The authority said in a subsequent statement that the deceased included 4 Saudi citizens and 8 residents of Bangladeshi, American, Egyptian, Jordanian, Syrian, Palestinian, and Sudanese nationalities.
