Security Council: Peace in Yemen Not Achieved by Force

Members of the UN Security Council affirmed that sustainable peace in Yemen cannot be achieved through violence or the use of force, stressing their support for the efforts of the UN Special Envoy to reach a Yemeni-led and Yemeni-owned political settlement.
Council members also stressed the need for all member states to adhere to their commitments regarding the arms embargo on Yemen.
In this context, Council members condemned in the strongest terms the continuation and escalation of Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.
