Taiz: Houthi Shelling Kills 3 Civilians, Including Two Children, and Injures 7 Others
The Human Rights Office in Taiz Governorate announced the killing of three civilians, including two children, and the injury of seven others, including two children, due to indiscriminate shelling by the Houthi group on residential neighborhoods in the city over the past 24 hours. The shelling also resulted in damage to 12 homes.
The Director-General of the Human Rights Office in Taiz, Ali Sarhan, said that the shelling is part of what he described as a systematic killing campaign, coinciding with the continued siege imposed on the city for the fifteenth consecutive day. He stated that this includes closing entry points, preventing the entry of food, medicine, water, and fuel, and restricting the movement of citizens.
Sarhan added that the office is documenting these incidents with photos and video clips, noting that it has complete documentation of the shelling but has refrained from publishing it due to the gruesome nature of the scenes.
The local official called on the international community, the United Nations, the Security Council, and human rights organizations to take action to stop the shelling, lift the siege, and hold those responsible for the violations accountable, warning of what he described as the worsening humanitarian situation in the city.
