Referees Basaleh, Al-Droubi, and Al-Hassani to Officiate at Gulf U-17 Cup and AFC Challenge League
Yemeni refereeing cadres continue to mark their presence in international forums, with three Yemeni referees participating in regional and continental competitions. Referees Mohammed Basaleh and Yasser Al-Droubi will participate in the Gulf U-17 Cup, while assistant referee Ali Al-Hassani will participate in the AFC Challenge League competitions.
International referee Mohammed Basaleh will participate as a center referee, alongside Yasser Al-Droubi as an assistant referee, in the Gulf Youth Cup hosted by Qatar from October 16 to November 4, 2026.
On the continental level, assistant referee Ali Al-Hassani will participate in the AFC Challenge League competitions, hosted by Indonesia from October 16 to 28, as part of the Asian football events.
These participations reflect and confirm the competence of Yemeni refereeing, and affirm their continued presence in regional and continental tournaments, which contributes to enhancing their experience, developing their skills, and raising Yemen's name in external sports forums.
This follows the participation of referee Yahya Darwish as a center referee and Ali Tarmoum as an assistant referee in the West Asian U-17 Championship recently held in Jordan.
