Trump Renews Threats to Iran and Asserts Control Over Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump renewed his threats to Iran, stressing that Washington controls the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump said, "Either Iran gives us everything we want, or it will cease to exist," adding that the country has no money and its army and police are not receiving their salaries.
He added, "Iran is in big trouble and is suffering from 300% inflation." Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, and preventing it from acquiring one is what drove us to go there.
Trump said that the Iran issue will be resolved very quickly one way or another; he continued: We now have complete control over the Strait of Hormuz thanks to the US military.
In response, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that dialogue is not effective when accompanied by the use of force, while the Revolutionary Guard's navy reiterated its full control over the Strait of Hormuz and announced it would penalize violating ships there every night.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed its complete control over oil transport traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, denying the accuracy of US figures on tanker crossings, and confirmed targeting a ship that attempted to pass through an "illegal" corridor in the southern part of the strait.
