Sana'a residents complain of a 24% increase in electricity bills

Residents in the Houthi-controlled capital, Sana'a, have complained about a new increase in electricity prices amid rising living costs and declining purchasing power for families.
Residents said they were surprised by an increase in the price per kilowatt from 257 riyals to 318 riyals, an increase of 61 riyals, representing about 24 percent, according to recently received bills.
Several residents expressed their dissatisfaction with the increase, considering it an additional burden on families already suffering from deteriorating economic conditions, high living costs, suspended salaries for a large segment of employees, and a worsening humanitarian situation.
