Crew of Vessel Dhiya 2 Rescued After Breakdown off Shabwah Coast

The Shabwah Governorate Coast Guard forces, on Saturday, in cooperation with fishermen from the Bir Ali and Arqa areas, successfully located the vessel Dhiya 2 and ensured the safety of its three-member crew, after it suffered a technical failure in its engine and was set adrift by waves and sea currents off the coast of Bir Ali.
The commander of the Shabwah Coast Guard branch, Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, explained that the operations room received a report last Friday that the vessel was in danger of sinking near an island off the coast of Bir Ali. In response, Coast Guard teams began search operations, which led to locating the vessel on the Arqa coast. Fishermen were then able to tow it to safety and confirm that the three sailors on board were safe.
The vessel Dhiya 2 belongs to Abdullah Yazid Maqram, a citizen from Hadramout Governorate. It is currently on the Arqa coast undergoing engine repairs, following the successful search effort that found it and ensured the safety of its entire crew.
