Rights Center Issues Distress Call to Save Civilians in Rural Taiz from Shelling and Siege
The Taiz Human Rights Center (THRC) has issued an urgent distress call for intervention to save civilians in the areas of Kahlan, Al-Aqroudh, Al-Rahn, and Al-Aridha, southeast of Taiz city, warning of the dangers of indiscriminate shelling and the Houthi fire siege imposed on the area for days.
The center called for immediate action and pressure on the Houthi group to stop the shelling and allow access for ambulance teams, medical aid, food, and medicine to the population, citing a direct threat to their lives and the obstruction of efforts to evacuate the wounded.
The center warned that the continuation of the siege and the prevention of access to basic necessities exacerbate the suffering of civilians and could lead to the death of injured individuals due to the inability to obtain necessary medical care, despite the possibility of saving them.
