On Monday, Presidential Leadership Council member and Governor of Hadramaut, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, launched an aid convoy of 350 tons of food, shelter, and medical supplies to assist those displaced and affected by the war.

The Yemeni News Agency (Saba) reported that the convoy was prepared in the city of Mukalla, with contributions from the Hadramaut Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Yemeni Economic Corporation, aiming to meet some of the humanitarian needs of displaced and affected families.

The agency quoted Al-Khanbashi as saying that the convoy comes under the directives of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, as part of efforts to support the displaced and alleviate their suffering amid difficult conditions.

For his part, the Undersecretary of Hadramaut for Youth Affairs and Civil Society Organizations, Murad Ba'alawy, explained that the convoy includes food, shelter, and medical supplies, stressing the importance of continuing humanitarian initiatives and consolidating official and community efforts to help those affected.

Yemen has been witnessing an escalation on several fronts since the renewal of military confrontations last July, resulting in deaths and injuries, including civilians, as well as the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people and a worsening of humanitarian needs.
