Gold Prices: Notable Drop in Sana'a and Aden on Nov 6, 2026

Gold prices on Friday saw a notable decline in Sana'a and Aden compared to previous days, despite slight variations from one shop to another.
The price of a 21-karat gold gram in Aden reached about 1.76 million Yemeni rials of the new currency, while in Sana'a it reached about 60 rials of the old currency.
As for the gold sovereign (8 grams, 21-karat), it exceeded 1,447,000 rials in Aden, while in Sana'a it surpassed 487,000 rials.
These are the prices for buying from citizens, while they increase slightly when sold to customers, as a profit margin is calculated for each gram of the yellow metal.
The exchange rate of the local currency differs between Houthi-controlled areas and government-controlled areas; the dollar exchange rate in Sana'a is about 535 rials, compared to 1,560 rials in areas under the influence of the internationally recognized government.
It is worth noting that gold prices change from time to time and vary relatively from one shop to another in Yemen's markets, depending on global and local market movement, and supply and demand.
