Youth Celebrations in Socotra Commemorate the September 26 Revolution
Youth in the Socotra Archipelago province celebrated on Saturday the 64th anniversary of the September 26 Revolution, which overthrew the Imamate regime and declared the establishment of the republic in North Yemen in 1962.
The Al-Mahriah Net correspondent reported that participants raised the republican flags and sang the national anthem amid a festive atmosphere that evoked the symbolism of the revolution and its associated values of republicanism, freedom, and national dignity.
The celebrations in Socotra coincide with Yemenis in various governorates and regions commemorating the 64th anniversary of the September 26 Revolution, which comes this year amid the ongoing crisis and conflict in the country.
The celebrants affirmed their adherence to the national symbolism of the occasion, chanting phrases confirming that Yemen is a republic and that the September revolution represents a prominent milestone in the country's modern history.
