Taiz Authority Demands International Action After Civilians Killed and Injured in Houthi Shelling in Al-Aqroudh
The local authority in Taiz Governorate condemned the Houthi group's targeting of a citizen's home in the village of Heba in the Al-Aqroudh area, which resulted in civilian casualties, according to a statement it issued.
The local authority stated that the targeting of the home is part of a series of attacks on houses and residential neighborhoods in the governorate, considering that the continuation of these attacks exacerbates the suffering of the population amidst the siege, shelling, and displacement.
The authority offered its condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery, calling on the people of the governorate to unite to confront what it described as Houthi terrorism and end the ongoing suffering of the population.
It called on the United Nations and relevant human rights organizations to condemn the incident, document its circumstances, preserve evidence, and take urgent measures to protect civilians and hold those responsible for targeting them accountable.
