Youth National Team Exits Gulf Cup After Semi-Final Loss to UAE
Our youth national team lost to their Emirati counterparts by a single goal in the semi-final match of the Gulf Cup, held in Qatar from October 16 to November 4, 2026.
The first half ended in a goalless draw. In the second half, the pace of the game increased, and our team launched several attacks that lacked proper finishing and concentration from the forwards.
The UAE team managed to score the only goal of the match following a major defensive error, when a defender mistakenly passed the ball short to the goalkeeper, allowing UAE player Dacosta to intercept it and score the winning goal, securing qualification for the UAE.
With this loss, the youth national team concluded a positive participation in the Gulf Cup, which serves as a preparatory stage for the more significant challenge of the Asian Cup qualifiers in Group Six. This group includes the teams of (Yemen, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Northern Mariana Islands), with the matches to be held in Kyrgyzstan.
