Qatar draws and Germany wins in two friendlies before the World Cup kicks off

Teams participating in the FIFA World Cup continued their preparations for the upcoming tournament, with the Qatari national team drawing 0-0 against El Salvador, while the German national team secured a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over the United States in two friendly matches.
A goalless draw was the result of the match between Qatar and El Salvador, a preparatory test for 'Al Annabi' before competing in the World Cup, scheduled to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
The first half saw both teams exchanging control, with Akram Afif and Issa Laye wasting Qatar's best chances, while goalkeeper Mahmoud Abu Nada excelled in saving a dangerous attempt from Salvadoran striker Steven Vásquez.
In the second half, Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui made several changes to energize the midfield, but the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
The Qatari team will begin its tournament journey against Switzerland next Saturday in a group that also includes Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In another match, the German team defeated its American host 2-1 in Chicago, in its final friendly test before the start of the World Cup.
The Germans took an early lead through Kai Havertz in the second minute, before Antonee Robinson equalized for the United States in the 37th minute, while Leroy Sané gave his country the winning goal in the 57th minute.
The German team will play its first match of the tournament against Curaçao on June 14 in a group that also includes Côte d'Ivoire and Ecuador, with ambitions to reclaim the World Cup title, which has been elusive since their last victory in the 2014 edition.
