Liverpool and Chelsea Face Off in the English League Cup
Football fans await a tough match between Liverpool and Chelsea this Wednesday evening in the fourth round of the 2026-2027 English League Cup.
Liverpool, led by their Spanish coach Andoni Iraola, enter the match with high morale after securing 4 consecutive victories in all competitions, the latest being a 2-0 domestic win against Brighton.
Meanwhile, Chelsea, led by Spanish coach Xabi Alonso, are looking to bounce back from their recent 0-2 league defeat to Tottenham.
The two teams will play two consecutive matches at the Etihad Stadium within just 3 days, facing each other first in the League Cup today, followed by another encounter next Saturday in the ninth round of the English Premier League.
In a second match, Manchester City will face their guest Brighton with wavering morale after their recent 1-2 league loss to hosts Aston Villa, their first defeat in all competitions this season.
In turn, Brighton, third in the league, are looking to get back to their winning ways and overcome their recent loss to Liverpool.
