Arsenal Joins Manchester City at the Top with Win Over Everton
Arsenal secured an important 2-0 victory over visiting Everton on Saturday in the eighth round of the Premier League, joining Manchester City at the top of the table with 21 points.
Arsenal scored two goals through its center-backs Ezri Konsa and the Brazilian Gabriel. Konsa scored the first goal early in the 7th minute, capitalizing on an assist from Viktor Gyökeres, then the Brazilian Gabriel added the second goal with a header in the 68th minute after connecting with a cross from Ben White.
The reigning champions, Arsenal, thus took full advantage of leaders Manchester City's 2-1 loss to Aston Villa. The Gunners also raised their tally to 21 points, remaining in second place only by goal difference behind City.
Meanwhile, Everton suffered their second loss of the season, and their score remained frozen at 10 points in ninth place.
In other matches, Fulham beat Coventry City by one goal, and Tottenham successfully overcame Chelsea with a 2-0 victory.
