Two protests in front of the White House and the Congress building in Washington demanded the lifting of the Houthi siege on the city of Taiz, the opening of roads, and condemned attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The participants in the two protests called on the international community to take urgent action and apply pressure to end the siege and open the roads, ensure the arrival of humanitarian aid, medical and food supplies, and fuel, and stop the attacks on civilians and civilian facilities.

The participants condemned the Houthis' targeting of medical facilities, ambulances, and residential neighborhoods, as well as the shelling of Aden and Riyan airports in Mukalla. They stressed the need to protect civilian facilities and vital infrastructure, and to spare civilians from the consequences of these attacks.

They affirmed that their action stems from their humanitarian and national responsibility, and that the suffering of Taiz requires an international stance that goes beyond statements of condemnation to practical steps that end the siege and guarantee civilians' right to life, security, and dignity.

The participants raised banners and slogans expressing the suffering of the people of Taiz due to the ongoing siege, and called on the US administration, Congress, and the international community to take a serious stand to end the humanitarian suffering and protect civilians.

The two protests highlighted the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the city of Taiz and its countryside, where residents face extremely difficult living and health conditions amid the continuing siege, road closures, and shortages of food, medicine, and fuel, which threatens the lives of patients and children and disrupts basic medical services.
