Oman Announces Registration of Over 1.8 Million Vehicles
The total number of registered vehicles in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of June 2026 reached approximately 1,896,956 vehicles, an increase of 5.5 percent compared to the end of June 2025.
Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information showed that the number of private vehicles reached 1,503,239, while the number of commercial vehicles reached 281,217.
The number of rental vehicles was 44,817, and taxis were 28,859, in addition to 11,764 government vehicles and 10,961 temporary vehicles.
Motorcycles recorded the highest growth rate among registration types at 10.7 percent, with their number reaching 9,005 by the end of June 2026, compared to 8,712 by the end of June 2025.
The data indicated that the number of vehicles weighing less than 3 tonnes was 1,720,196, while vehicles weighing between 7 and 10 tonnes numbered 80,736, and those weighing more than 10 tonnes numbered 54,912.
