Humanitarian Appeal to Support Yemeni Refugees in Djibouti
Djibouti's Minister of Social Affairs and Solidarity, Ouloufa Ismail Abdo, has launched a humanitarian appeal to support her country's efforts to aid Yemeni refugees arriving in Djibouti, amid growing needs for food, shelter, and healthcare.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, the minister stated that among the refugees are children, sick individuals, and people with disabilities, stressing their urgent need for basic aid, shelter, and healthcare.
She added that Djiboutian authorities are working to provide tents and essential necessities for the refugees, noting that the Ministry of Health is present alongside relevant agencies to offer the necessary care.
The minister called on the international community, especially Arab and Islamic countries, to support Djibouti in its humanitarian efforts and help provide support for the Yemeni refugees who arrived in the country on small boats, with their children, and in difficult conditions.
She emphasized that her country is doing its utmost to provide assistance to the arrivals, calling for enhanced humanitarian support to meet their basic needs.
