Government forces seize Same' Fort, repel Houthi attacks on Taiz fronts
Government forces announced on Saturday their control over "Same' Fort" southeast of Taiz governorate, after fierce battles with the Houthi group, coinciding with the intensification of confrontations on the eastern and western fronts of the governorate.
Military sources told the official "Saba" news agency that government forces, backed by fighters from the Popular Resistance in the Same' district, managed to take control of Same' Fort following fierce clashes which, according to the sources, resulted in dozens of Houthi elements being killed and wounded, while others fled the area.
In addition, the 35th Armored Brigade of the Yemeni government forces announced that its troops continued to advance on the Same' front, southeast of the governorate, and managed to recapture a number of sites previously controlled by the Houthi group.
The Brigade noted that Houthi group elements retreated towards the Al-Hulaylah and Dimnat Khadir areas, pointing to the continued field progress of government forces on the front.
On other fronts, the Taiz Axis Media Center reported an intensification of battles between government forces and the Popular Resistance on one side, and the Houthis on the other, on "the Al-Kadha front and the fronts of the Jabal Habashi district west of Taiz and Same' southeast of the governorate," noting that the Houthis suffered losses during the confrontations.
The Axis also announced that its forces repelled Houthi attacks on "Jabal Han, Hathran, and the western fronts of Taiz city," after confrontations that lasted several hours, stating that the attacks left dead and wounded among the Houthi ranks.
