Gold Prices Stable in Sana'a and Aden on Sunday, September 20, 2026
Gold prices witnessed relative stability on Sunday in both Sana'a and Aden, despite slight variations from one shop to another.
The price of a 21-karat gold gram in Aden reached about 187,000 riyals, while in Sana'a it was 64,000 riyals.
As for the gold sovereign (8 grams of 21-karat gold), its price exceeded 1,500,000 riyals in Aden, while in Sana'a it surpassed 513,000 riyals.
These are the prices for buying from citizens, while they increase slightly when selling to customers, as a profit margin is calculated for each gram of the yellow metal.
The exchange rate of the local currency differs between Houthi-controlled areas and government-controlled areas; the dollar exchange rate in Sana'a is about 535 riyals, compared to 1,555 riyals in areas under the internationally recognized government.
It is worth noting that gold prices change from time to time and vary relatively from one shop to another in Yemen's markets, depending on global and local market movement, and supply and demand.
