Gold prices drop in Sana'a and Aden today, Friday, October 23, 2026

Gold prices saw a relative decline on Friday in both Sana'a and Aden, despite a slight variation from one shop to another.
The price of a 21-karat gold gram in Aden reached about 176,000 Yemeni riyals of the new currency, while in Sana'a it reached 60,000 riyals of the old currency.
As for the gold sovereign (8 grams of 21-karat), its price exceeded 1,415,000 riyals in Aden, while it surpassed 486,000 riyals in Sana'a.
These are the prices for buying from citizens, while they increase slightly when sold to customers, as a profit margin is calculated for each gram of the yellow metal.
The exchange rate of the local currency differs between Houthi-controlled areas and government-controlled areas; the dollar exchange rate in Sana'a is about 535 riyals, compared to 1,560 riyals in areas under the internationally recognized government.
It should be noted that gold prices change from time to time and vary relatively from one shop to another in Yemeni markets, depending on global and local market movement, supply, and demand.
