Brighton defeated visitors Arsenal 3-0, toying with the Premier League champions' defense in a one-sided match on Saturday, in the fifth round of the Premier League, handing them their first defeat of the season and ending their perfect start of 4 consecutive wins.
The loss was more than just a scoreline defeat, as Arsenal appeared extremely weak both defensively and physically. Their midfield and defense struggled to cope with the speed and movement of Brighton's players, who were more aggressive and organized, and repeatedly exploited spaces and mistakes.
Brighton raised their points tally to 10, temporarily moving into third place, while Arsenal's tally remained at 12 points in second place, behind Manchester City on goal difference.
