Saudi Arabia Extends Suspension of Operations at Riyadh Airport Following Attacks

On Monday, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation extended the suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to complete procedures to verify the safety and readiness of its facilities, following attacks that targeted the airport, without setting a date for the resumption of work.
The Authority said in a statement that the suspension will continue until the necessary procedures to verify the safety and operational readiness of the facilities are completed.
In this context, the US Federal Aviation Administration urged airlines to exercise caution when traveling to or flying over Saudi Arabia, warning of risks associated with military activity and interference with navigation systems. The US advisory remains in effect until December 10.
These measures followed attacks on King Khalid Airport on Saturday and Sunday, which, according to Saudi authorities, resulted in the death of 13 people and the injury of more than 300 in the first attack, while Sunday's attack killed one person and injured 11 others.
